Sony PCWA-C500 VAIO 5GHz 802.11a Cardbus WLAN adapter
- Chipset: Atheros AR5000
- pciid: 168c:7000 (rev 01)
- Driver: Windows drivers from
http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=PCWAC500&upd_id=1258&os_id=7. Mad Wi-Fi Linux driver does not work (need tweaking?): “dhcpcd ath0” does not work, cannot get a lease.
Info
Works on Slackware 10.1 and UbuntuHHH with Ndiswrapper 1.1 built from source (ndiswrapper from Ubuntu distro does not work, also need to put mad wi-fi drivers into hotplug blacklist). “iwconfig” wrongly reports “IEEE802.11b” and “Frequency:41.12GHz”!
