TrendNet TEW643PI

  • Chipset: Realtek 8190
  • pciid: 10ec:8190
  • Driver: Driver for Windows XP on CD included with hardware

Info

Tested on Ubuntu 9.10. Uninstalled network-manager-gnome, installed wicd. Card didn't show up at all.

Followed guide at http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/answers/Networking/NdisWrapper_The_Ultimate_Guide/, copying .inf and .sys files from manufacturer's CD.

Rebooted, used

sudo ndiswrapper -l

to get Linux interface name, wlan0 for me. Used "preferences" in WICD, specified wlan0 as wireless adaptor. Refreshed networks and all worked properly.
