Installed successfully on Mandriva 2009.1 Linux distribution using WPA encryption.
Unzip the file downloaded from SIS site. The windows XP driver to be used is found in folder :
wlan_163_r105/R105_Logo/SetupNT/USB/
Plug the USB Thomson adapter
In a console (root mode) change directory to the directory where the windows driver is stored then type the following commands:
ndiswrapper -i sis163u.inf (load the windows driver in your Linux system) ndiswrapper -l (check that the driver is properly installed) ndiswrapper -m (create the kernel module: alias wlan0 ndiswrapper is added to /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper) modprobe ndiswrapper (created module is loaded)
At this step, interface wlan0 is created. You can create your wifi connection via the Mandriva Control Center
