Working w/ ndiswrapper-1.6rc1. Full step-by-step posted in forum [43] .
With ndiswrapper version 1.7 (and later), load_fw_ar5523 is not used; instead, install both neta5agu and athfmwdl drivers. With that, ndiswrapper will load the firmware when necessary.
